Assistant Professor Pascal Magnussen

Research 
Professor Pascal Magnussen has experience in Malaria in pregnancy, resistance to antimalarial drugs, clinical filariasis, epidemiology and control of schistosomiasis and intestinal helminths. His ongoing studies are in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Ghana and Malawi. He has also held previous studies in Mozambique, Senegal, Zambia, Rep. of South Africa and Burkina Faso.  Professor Magnussen has more than 220 publications in peer reviewed international scientific journals. Teaching 
Professor Magnussen has comprehensive experience of teaching tropical medicine and infectious diseases, epidemiology and control of vector borne parasitic diseases, public health, travel medicine and has Supervised more than 30 PhD students and a no. of BSc and MSc students. 

Technical & Advisory Functions 
Professor Magnussen has conducted several tasks related to schistosomiasis and Intestinal Helminths and Guinea Worm control and is a member of the International Commission for the Certification of Dracunculiasis Eradication. He has also held the position of  secretary for the Federation of European Societies for Tropical Medicine and International Health.
